Jahmyr Gibbs rushed 11 times for 54 yards in the Lions’ Week 12 loss to the Packers, adding four receptions for 19 yards.
Gibbs’ hot streak came to a screeching halt as the Lions fell behind 20-6 in the first quarter and shoveled all their goal-line touches David Montgomery’s way. Gibbs’ closest end zone handle came at the Packers’ 13. Montgomery took the rock from the Pack’s seven- and six-yard lines on different drives, converting the latter for a score. We doubt Gibbs has suddenly been declared persona non grata inside the 10, but Montgomery clearly maintains the edge. More disappointing was Gibbs’ lack of receiving usage as the Lions spent the entire afternoon in comeback mode. At New Orleans won’t be the easiest place to bounce back in Week 13, but with six teams on bye, Gibbs will remain in the top 12 at running back.
