  • DEN Running Back #26
Broncos signed RB Salvon Ahmed, formerly of the Dolphins, to their practice squad.
The Broncos added Ahmed after Tyler Badie went down in Sunday’s win over the Jets. Playing four seasons with the Dolphins, Ahmed has 163 carries for 593 yards and five touchdowns, adding 40 catches for 274 yards and a score. He will be depth for the Broncos, who have not found much consistent production from their running back room this season.
  • ARI Kicker #5
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Cardinals K Matt Prater (knee) is not expected to play in Week 6 against the Packers.
Prater missed Week 5 with the knee issue and is listed as questionable for Week 6. Practice squad kicker Chad Ryland will take his spot in the lineup. Ryland went 3-of-4 on field goals last week and connected on his only PAT attempt.
  • CAR Wide Receiver #5
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Diontae Johnson (ankle) “should be good to go” for Week 6 against the Falcons.
Johnson was listed as questionable after being limited in practice throughout the week. He is no stranger to playing through minor injuries and should see a full complement of snaps this week. Johnson’s hot streak under Andy Dalton came to an end with just three catches for 26 yards last week. He will look to get back on track as a volume-based WR2 versus Atlanta this week.
  • LV Running Back #3
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Zamir White (groin) “is considered a long-shot to play” in Week 6 against the Steelers.
White got in one limited practice before being listed as questionable on Friday. With Davante Adams still out and Jakobi Meyers downgraded to doubtful, the Raiders will be making the whole plane out of Brock Bowers this week. In the backfield, Alexander Mattison will get the start once again, keeping him in the RB3 range versus Pittsburgh.
  • LV Wide Receiver #17
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports “could wind up staying with the Las Vegas Raiders rather than being traded.”
The Raiders are seeking a second-round pick and then some for their injured 31-year-old receiver and haven’t received the level of interest they expected. Schefter also noted that they don’t want to foot the bill for any money left on Adams’ current contract. The Jets and Saints have both expressed interest in reuniting Adams with one of his former quarterbacks, but neither team seems willing to meet the Raiders’ lofty demands at this time. Adams is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury and has already been ruled out for Week 6.
  • CLE Running Back #24
Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot reports Nick Chubb (knee, PUP) is expected to play in Week 7 against the Bengals.
Chubb is out for Week 6 but is nearing his triumphant return. He suffered a catastrophic knee injury in Week 2 of the 2023 season. A torn ACL headlined the multiple injuries he sustained. Chubb has been practicing for two weeks and was limited for all three seasons this week. He will immediately take over the starting role once activated from the PUP list, though the Browns may limit his workload in his first game back. Week 6 will be Jerome Ford’s final game as the starting running back.
  • IND Wide Receiver #11
ESPN’s Stephen Holder reports the odds of Michael Pittman (back) playing in Week 6 against the Titans “seem good.”
Adam Schefter initially reported that Pittman would miss multiple games with the back injury and was a candidate to go on injured reserve. Somehow, Pittman returned. He was back on the practice field by Friday and received a questionable tag going into the weekend. Though his turnaround has been remarkable, Pittman will be a risky fantasy option in Week 6. His reps could be limited and, more importantly, Anthony Richardson is expected to play. Richardson has struggled to hit short and intermediate throws, where Pittman does most of his damage. Pittman ranks as a WR3/4 for Week 6.
  • IND Wide Receiver #1
ESPN’s Stephen Holder reports Josh Downs (toe) is expected to play in Week 6 against the Titans.
Downs was listed as questionable with the toe injury but practiced in full on Friday, putting him on the optimistic side of that tag going into the weekend. He missed the first two weeks of the year while recovering from an offseason ankle injury. Downs has since racked up 20 receptions on 26 targets, both of which lead the team since his return. With Anthony Richardson also expected to play, Downs ranks as a WR3 versus the Titans.
  • DET Running Back #5
Lions signed David Montgomery to a two-year, $18.25 million contract extension.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the deal includes $10.5 million in guarantees. Montgomery wasn’t set to hit free agency until after the 2025 season. The Lions signed Montgomery to a three-year deal in free agency after his rookie contract with Chicago expired. He has been one of the league’s most productive backs since then, racking up 1,286 yards and 17 touchdowns on 282 yards in the regular season. His role as the short-yardage back in the Detroit backfield will continue to prevent Jahmyr Gibbs from truly breaking out.
  • CHI Cornerback #29
Bears declared CB Tyrique Stevenson, WR Velus Jones, OG Nate Davis, S Jaquan Brisker, CB Terell Smith, DT Zacch Pickens, and DE Dominique Robinson inactive for Week 6 against the Jags.
Stevenson was listed as doubtful so the news isn’t surprising. Velus Jones has been a healthy scratch for most of the year after switching to running back in the offseason. Left guard Teven Jenkins was listed as questionable but is good to go.
  • JAX Wide Receiver #0
Gabe Davis is active for Week 6 against the Bears.
Davis was questionable by the letter of the law but never appeared to be at risk of missing Week 6. He ranks as a high-risk WR5 for his matchup with Chicago. Inactive for the Jags are DE Myles Cole, OL Javon Foster, OL Cole Van Lanen, DT Tyler Lacy, and DT Jeremiah Ledbetter.
