The Athletic’s Vic Tafur believes “it seems like the 49ers have big plans for second-year player Jordan James.”
It’s an interesting assertion because James rarely played this year, starting the season with a wrist injury and eventually playing only three offensive snaps in three active regular season games. However, James did close out the Divisional Round loss to the Seahawks with six carries for 28 yards and it appears he could seize the No. 2 role behind Christian McCaffrey if Brian Robinson walks in free agency. Isaac Guerendo, per Tafur, “seems like an easy cut” if Robinson returns.

Browns signed LB Quincy Williams, formerly of the Jets, to a two-year, $17 million contract.
The Jets took a chance on Williams following an injury-riddled first two seasons with the Jaguars, paying off handsomely before an injury-shortened 2025 season. Williams had the worst statistical season since his rookie year in 2019 last year but will now get a change of scenery with the new, team-friendly contract as he looks to rekindle his previous form with a new franchise.
Downs, Warren can 'shine' amid Pierce re-signing
Patrick Daugherty and Kyle Dvorchak dive into the Indianapolis Colts reportedly re-signing Alec Pierce, detailing how Josh Downs and Tyler Warren benefit from the move.
  • ARI Wide Receiver #84
Cardinals agreed to terms with WR Kendrick Bourne, formerly of the 49ers, on a two-year, $11.47 million contract.
The deal has a max value of $16.47 million. Bourne has been a consistent depth receiver throughout his career, most recently catching 37 passes for 551 yards for the 49ers in 2025. He has cracked 500 yards three times in nine seasons, profiling best as WR3 or lower on the depth chart. He’ll be exactly that for the Cardinals, who are fortifying the pass-catchers behind Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson as they figure out their quarterback plans.
  • HOU Safety #32
Texans agreed to terms with S Reed Blankenship, formerly of the Eagles, on a three-year, $24.8 million contract.
Blankenship made the Eagles’ roster as a UDFA in 2022. He served as a backup during his rookie season before earning a starting role in 2023. Blankenship never gave up that job and went on to start 46 reglar season games plus five postseason contests during his time in Philly. Blankenship broke up four passes and intercepted one in 2025. He will slot into a starting role on an elite Houston defense this year.
  • LA Long Snapper #49
Rams signed LS Joe Cardona, formerly of the Dolphins, to a two-year contract.
The financials of the deal were not immediately made available. Cardona, an 11-year veteran that played the first 10 seasons of his career in New England, has missed only four games during his sprawling career after entering the league out of Navy. He offers consistency for a special teams unit that struggled mightily a season ago.
  • ARI Guard #73
Cardinals agreed to terms with G Isaac Seumalo, formerly of the Steelers, on a three-year, $31.5 million contract.
Seumalo is a 10-year veteran who started all 44 games he played over the last three seasons with the Steelers. The 32-year-old made a Pro Bowl in 2024 and earned a 74.8 PFF grade in 2025, good for No. 12 among guards. Seumalo will be a new starter for the Cardinals’ interior offensive line as they figure out their quarterback situation moving forward.
  • ARI Defensive Tackle #51
Cardinals agreed to terms with DT Roy Lopez, formerly of the Lions, on a two-year, $11.5 million contract.
The deal includes $7 million guaranteed. 28-year-old Lopez is returning to Arizona after a one-year sojourn in Motown. A space clogger in the middle of the defense, Lopez will find a rotational role on early downs in the desert, but nothing more.
  • DEN Linebacker #49
Broncos re-signed LB Alex Singleton to a two-year, $15.5 million contract extension.
The deal includes $11 million guaranteed. Singelton led Denver with 135 total tackles in 2025. He also notched one sack, four pass breakups, and a forced fumble. He missed a single game to undergo surgery for testicular cancer. One game. NFL players are indeed “built different.” Singleton wears the green dot on defense, meaning he relays the play-calls from the sidelines to the field. Now back in Denver for two more seasons, he will resume that role in 2026.
  • ARI Defensive Lineman #91
    Cardinals re-signed DE L.J. Collier to a one-year, $2.5 million contract.
Collier was a rotational defensive lineman for the Cardinals in 2024, tallying 3.5 sacks before re-signing for the 2025 season. He suffered a knee injury in Week 2 and did not return until Week 17, playing just 98 snaps in four games. The Cardinals decide to give Collier another go as a low-price rotational option and the 30-year-old will look to play a full season with a healthier knee.
  • CAR Quarterback #15
Panthers signed QB Kenny Pickett to a one-year, $7.5 million contract.
The $7.5 million is solid backup money, just under the contract signed by Gardner Minshew with the Cardinals earlier in the day. Andy Dalton remains under contract through the 2026 season but could take on more of a mentor-type role, assuming the team retains his services. Pickett “boasts” a 16-to-16 touchdown-to-interception ratio across 27 starts and 36 appearances during his four-year NFL career.
  • SEA Wide Receiver #22
Seahawks re-signed WR Rashid Shaheed to a three-year, $51 million contract.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the deal includes $34.7 million guaranteed. It’s vaguely surprising after the Seahawks struggled to unlock Shaheed on offense following his mid-season trade acquisition, but he remained a lethal weapon on special teams and there is frankly almost no way he struggles as much as a pass catcher again. Shaheed’s field-stretching perfectly complements Jaxon Smith-Njigiba’s all-around game, and JSN’s dominance means there will be ways to free up Shaheed 1-on-1. We suppose he is on the outside looking in of WR3 status for the time being, but Shaheed’s second year in Seattle could go much better than the first in fantasy.
