Buscaglia connects the Bills to a wide assortment of receivers, notably stopping for a beat on Romeo Doubs, Jalen Nailor, and Calvin Austin as particularly good fits for Buffalo. Moore and Khalil Shakir are the two easy top targets, any other additions would likely sink Palmer into a background role in the second year of his contract.

Clowney totaled 8.5 sacks, 40 quarterback pressures, 26 solo tackles and six TFLs with the Cowboys last year. The signing reunites Clowney, 33, with the team that drafted him No. 1 overall in 2014. He played with them through 2018 before bouncing around the league on one- and two-year deals. He remains a very effective player, having posted a career-best 16.8 percent pass-rush win rate just last year.

Popper believes McConkey’s “versatile skill set” will allow him to function as new OC Mike McDaniel’s passing game “focal point.” McDaniel antagonized defensive coordinators during his time as the Dolphins’ head coach by moving WRs Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle around via pre-snap motion. Popper believes McConkey’s 4.39-second 40 speed, shiftiness, hands, route running and post-catch abilities qualify him to serve as McDaniel’s “move piece.” McConkey’s Year 2 flop lurks in the background, but if his mid-tier WR2 best ball ADP carries over to re-draft leagues later this month — or even drops — that could end up looking like quite a bargain at the end of the year.

The Texans released Edwards, 32, back in March. If he can make the final roster, it will be his third straight season in Houston. He notched two sacks and 14 quarterback pressures last year before suffering a season-ending pectoral injury in December. The Texans correspondingly waived OT Derrick Graham and RB Evan Hull.

Duggan buried this thought in a lengthy social media post last Wednesday. He says Giants RBs Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy “are fine,” but notes that the front office was “open to upgrading to a premier back,” referring to Cardinals rookie RB Jeremiyah Love. Duggan “could see a vet signing,” like free agent RB Najee Harris (Achilles) once he is healthy, “or a trade.” A veteran like Harris would slide into the RB3 role, and might occasionally steal enough touches to hurt Skattebo’s weekly ceiling outcomes. A premier back would have a much larger impact a player like that would obviously be much harder to acquire at this point. That outcome seems far less likely. Hopefully, the Giants keep the position group as is, and Skattebo rumbles to an RB2 finish or better, showing no ill effects of the devastating ankle injury he suffered last season.

The Packers’ right tackle recently changed his last name from Tom to Bako-Bewele. He suffered a partial patellar tendon tear in Week 15 against the Broncos and underwent surgery to correct the issue this offseason. When asked about his availability for the regular season, Bako-Bewele said he will play in Week 1.

Fowler does acknowledge that Vea’s camp has “pretty heavy” trade interest and also notes that Vea has felt his contract has been outdated “for a long time.” Fowler adds that in his opinion it doesn’t seem like the Bucs really tried to reach an extension with Vea, at least as compared to how they acted with Baker Mayfield. It’s hard to make a trade with a team that doesn’t want to make a trade, so we’ll see how this unfolds but it’s far from certain that the Bucs will actually make good on Vea’s trade request.
