The Missouri resident and Missouri Baptist product, who also opened with 66, is making his third appearance, all as an open-qualifier, and first since a best of T50 in 2015 (71-67-72-68). Overall, this is his sixth career PGA TOUR event, with notable made cuts at the 118th U.S. Open (T56), and also finished T56 two weeks ago at the 122nd U.S. Open on 13-over 293 (73-69-77-74). At the midpoint, the 39-year-old has tallied two eagles, T1 in that stat, and 20 birdies against four bogeys, and ranks 3rd SG: Tee-to-Green (7.261), including 1st in SG: Around (3.204), and 35th SG: Putting (1.159).
