The 21-year-old, who was a junior at Stanford in the spring and runner-up in the Pac-12 Men’s Golf Championship, is one of six amateurs in the 156-man field. He’s unranked in the Official World Golf Ranking, 46th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, and was an impressive three-stroke winner of the 36-hole Final Qualifying tournament at Hollinwell, England, on June 28th. The Englishman, who outpaced one square (hole 10) with five birdies (7, 9, 12, 14 and 17), was inspired by countryman Matt Fitzpatrick’s win at the 122nd U.S. Open four weeks ago, who’s a fellow member at Hallamshire Golf Club. “Yeah, I mean, it was obviously brilliant to see him do that.
