The 1982 champion won in his sixth trip to Augusta National and owns four other top 10s. It’s been a while since he’s been a contender, with 1988 marking the last time he scored a top 10. A practice round favorite to follow, he will try and break the streak of five missed cuts later this week.

The Walrus has teed it up here every year since 1979, winning in 1982. He will be a part of history this week, as he joins his son, Kevin, as the first father-son duo to compete in the same Masters. He hasn’t made the cut at Augusta National since 2007, and last cracked the top 25 in 1992, so it seems that he recognizes that his time has passed.
