The 27-year-old Canadian carded seven birdies and one bogey, finishing his round with five pars. Joining Nesbitt in the field at TPC Potomac will be former top-ranked amateur Norman Xiong, Nicholas Thompson – brother of LPGA star Lexi Thompson, and David Lingmerth, who triumphed in a four-for-one playoff. The Wells Fargo will mark the fourth career PGA Tour start for Nesbitt, who plays mostly on the PGA Tour LatinoAmérica. His last Tour appearance was the 2020 Mayakoba Golf Classic, where he missed the cut. He’s made one cut, at the 2019 Honda Classic where he finished T-83. Nesbitt has one LatinoAmérica victory, at the 2019 Mexico Open where he carded a final-round 62 to come from behind and win his first and only title. He entered the final round trailing by five shots (T-7) before going on to win by two shots at Tijuana Country Club in Tijuana, Mexico.
