    As a part of Team Canada’s National Squad, Bernard has the pedigree to contend on the PGA TOUR eventually, if not this week. The National Squad highlights the nation’s best amateur golfers. Bernard got into the field on the sponsor’s invite and is joined by teammates Blair Hamilton and Jared du Toit. With no PGA TOUR experience on his resume, there is no reason for gamers to invest in the 21-year-old this week.

    The 22-year-old is making his second career PGA TOUR start after a missed cut here last year (by 11) with rounds of 81-76. He’s the reigning Canadian Amateur champion and slots 109th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. The University of Montreal student finished T7 in his debut last week on the Mackenzie Tour - PGA TOUR Canada, sandwiching 71-69 with bookend 65s. He’s had a decorated amateur career, including medalist at the NCAA Div II Championship, and is part of Golf Canada’s National Team for a third year.
