Inclement weather delayed the completion of three of the four LFQs until this morning. The Austrian shot 3-under-par 69-70=139 in regulation, and then clinched one of the two remaining berths with Lee Corfield (70-69). Andy Smith was the medalist at 4-under 70-68=138. Brier has competed in five British Opens, including the 2003 edition at Royal St. George’s where he finished T46. Corfield and Smith will be making their debuts in the major. The only notable that failed to qualify from this site was 2010 British Amateur champion, Jin Jeong (145). He won the Silver Medal as low amateur at St. Andrews last year, but has since turned professional.
