Wes Heffernan was added on Monday to the field of the RBC Canadian Open.

This will be the first start of the year for Heffernan on either the Nationwide or PGA Tours. He did play in last year’s Canadian Open, but he failed to make the cut.

Wes Heffernan shot 5-under-par 69-70=139 at today’s U.S. Open sectional qualifier at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Washington, securing one of four berths reserved for the site.

Fellow Canuck Adam Hadwin (68-71=139) shared runner-up honors with Heffernan. Chris Williams was the medalist at 6-under 70-68=138. John Ellis earned the final spot at 4-under 67-73=140. Notables that failed to qualify include Jason Allred (143), Clay Ogden (144), Troy Merritt (145) and Kevin Wentworth (149). Michael Block (69-72=141) is the first alternate from this sectional.
