Noriega

Noriega, a former top prospect in the Mariners’ system, batted just .246/.266/.275 in 147 plate appearances last year between three different minor league affiliates of the Royals. He’s a slick fielder, but the 25-year-old shortstop probably won’t ever hit well enough to stick on a major league roster.

Noriega is a slick-fielding shortstop who cracked Baseball Prospectus’ Top 100 prospects list in 2010, but he batted just .275/.299/.360 across 412 plate appearances this past season between Double-A and Triple-A. The 24-year-old is a .257/.295/.332 career hitter in the minors.
