A’s prospect Jason Ray pitched 5 2/3 hitless innings and struck out seven for low Single-A Kane County on Saturday.
The only runner through five innings came on an error. In the sixth, he walked three and was charged with two unearned runs after a reliever gave up a hit. Although he’s starting now, Ray, a 2005 eighth-round pick, projects as a reliever. He has a chance to become a pretty good one in a few years.
