Koda Glover announced Monday that he’s retiring from his playing career.
Glover made the announcement on social media. The 26-year-old made a rapid rise through the Nationals’ minor league system and flashed some impressive potential at times, but he just couldn’t stay healthy. He was limited to 21 appearances this past season due to a forearm strain. Glover will walk away with a 4.55 ERA over 63 appearances.

Koda Glover (forearm) will be shut down for another six weeks following a platelet rich plasma injection.
Glover had been working back from a forearm strain when he encountered a setback about two weeks ago, prompting him to go for a PRP injection. The right-hander recently met with Dr. James Andrews, which is never a good sign, though surgery does not appear to be on the table. At this point, anything the Nats get from Glover this year will be a bonus.

But manager Davey Martinez told reporters Thursday that Glover basically needs to go through a full spring training throwing program to build his arm back up, which means he probably won’t be ready to join the Nationals until mid-to-late April. Nationals manager Davey Martinez said Monday that there’s no timetable for Koda Glover (forearm) to return.
Glover was diagnosed with a forearm strain in late Feburary. Given his history, the Nationals are going to be very cautious about pushing things. So at this point it appears very likely he’ll begin the season on the injured list.

Glover was sent for an MRI after leaving Sunday’s Grapefruit League appearance. It’s not great news given his history, but at least there’s no damage to the ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow. The plan calls for him to shut it down for the time being, but he’s still confident he’ll be ready for Opening Day. His status should be in question, though.

Koda Glover (elbow) will go for an MRI on Monday afternoon.
Glover was pulled from Sunday’s appearance against the Cardinals due to elbow tightness, a concerning development given his history. There should be an update on his status later Monday evening.

Koda Glover was removed from Sunday’s Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals due to elbow tightness.
The hard-throwing right-hander isn’t a stranger to arm injuries, so this is very discouraging news. Nationals’ manager Dave Martinez said that they’ll see how he’s feeling on Monday before determining the next course of action, but a precautionary MRI could be on the horizon.

Nationals optioned RHP Koda Glover to Triple-A Syracuse.
Glover was unscored upon in two relief appearances and looks like a potential weapon out of the bullpen over the long haul, but the Nats needed a roster spot for Lucas Giolito. The young reliever will be back eventually.
