Red Sox infielder Brock Holt hit for the cycle, helping his club absolutely demolish the Yankees in Game 3 of the ALDS on Monday night. He is the first player to hit for the cycle in the postseason.

Holt singled to lead off the fourth inning, added a two-run triple later in the fourth, hit an RBI double in the eighth, and slapped a two-run home run down the right field line off of position player Austin Romine in the ninth.

Holt’s cycle is the first in baseball since... last week, when Charlie Blackmon hit for the cycle against the Nationals. He’s the first Red Sox player to hit for the cycle since Mookie Betts two months ago against the Blue Jays.

The versatile Holt had a solid regular season but doesn’t exactly strike one as a guy who’s going to light it up offensively in the playoffs. He hit .277/.362/.411 with seven homers, 46 RBI, 41 runs, and seven stolen bases in 367 plate appearances.
