Dillon Gee announced he is retiring.
Gee, who pitched for the Chunichi Dragons in Japan last season, finishes with a career big league record of 51-38 and a 4.09 ERA over parts of eight seasons: six with the Mets, a season with the Royals and a split season with the Rangers and Twins.
Injuries were a problem for Gee. He had surgery for a blood clot earlier in his career and had Thoracic Outlet Syndrome surgery following the 2016 season.
