It kind of stinks that Kyle Farnsworth has been really good this year because there’s an awful lot of mileage to be had with “man, Kyle Farnsworth is bad!” stuff. It’s something that fans of any number of teams can agree on too. Well, except for Rays fans, who have watched him put up a 1.99 ERA and 0.98 WHIP in 40 innings this season.
Buster Olney says he’s available, however, so there’s a chance that a whole new team can become acquainted with his charms, be they his old ones or his new, strangely effective ones.
All that said, there are a lot of relief pitchers available right now, so I’m not sure what, exactly, the Rays can expect to get for him.
