That weird deal from last weekend in which David Price said umpire Tom Hallion shouted expletives at him and Hallion accused Price of lying? And then the Rays players jumped on Twitter to defend their teammate and talk smack about Hallion? Well, it’s ending with fines all around:

Umpire Tom Hallion, tweeting #Rays players (Price, Hellickson, Moore) will be fined by MLB stemming from Sunday incident. No suspensions

Fine for ##Rays Price, and presumably others, was $1,000

Still no official announcement from MLB -- we tend to get press releases about such matters -- but if the ump is fined too, that’s fairly significant as far as these things go. And given that it has ended up as a he-said, he-said, I think no suspensions makes sense.

Now, let’s just see how small Hallion’s strike zone is the next time he calls a Rays game.
