Royals signed OF Ruben Sosa to a minor league contract.
The 26-year-old outfielder spent the 2016 season split between Bridgeport in the Independent Atlantic League and Laguna in the Mexican League. For Laguna, he hit .371/.458/.517 with two homers, 29 RBI and 22 stolen bases in 70 games. His .458 on-base percentage paced the Mexican League.
