Mariners prospect Victor Sanchez threw a no-hitter Wednesday at Low-A Clinton.
He didn’t allow any walks and had eight strikeouts over nine innings, but a pair of errors prevented him from throwing a perfect game. The Mariners’ No. 6 overall prospect, Sanchez has a 2.83 ERA and 1.02 WHIP over 12 starts at the Low-A level this season.

Mariners right-handed pitching prospect Victor Sanchez tossed seven shutout innings while striking out eight batters for Double-A Jackson on Friday.
Sanchez scattered a single, a double, and three walks while dominating a relatively weak Jacksonville Suns lineup. The 19-year old Sanchez was the youngest player in the Southern League by more than a full year at the beginning of the season, having skipped the horrors of pitching in hitter-friendly High-A High Desert. He is physically mature and has a nearly-major league-ready arsenal. Expect him to make his debut in mid-2015.

Mariners right-handed pitching prospect Victor Sanchez allowed nine singles, a walk, and five runs (four earned) over 6 1/3 innings for Double-A Jackson on Saturday.
Despite the poor overall line, this outing showed a lot of positives for the 19-year old Sanchez. He did not allow an extra-base hit and only walked one batter, he also threw 58 of his 92 (63.0 percent) of his pitches for strikes. Sanchez is likely to make his MLB debut in mid-2015 and has the potential to be a solid mid-rotation starter.

At the beginning of the season, Sanchez was the youngest player in all of the three Double-A leagues by nearly one full year. He has enjoyed a solid season, holding opponents to a 3.79 ERA and a 1.235 WHIP with 7.3 K/9.

Victor Sanchez will open the 2014 season at Double-A Jackson.
Sanchez, who celebrated his 19th birthday over the offseason, will bypass the hitter-friendly High-A California League. The 6-foot, 255-pound right-hander made his full-season debut last year, posting a 2.78 ERA and 79-18 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 113 1/3 innings (20 starts) at Low-A Clinton. The Mariners have no need to rush Sanchez to the major leagues, so expect him to spend the entire season at Jackson.
