Grizzlies sign G/F Kyle Weaver for training camp.
Weaver is highly unlikely to make the final roster, but the Grizzlies will see what he’s got in training camp. It doesn’t help his chances that the team is currently loaded up on depth in the backcourt.
  • MEM Shooting Guard
The Thunder recalled guard Kyle Weaver and forward D.J. White from the D-League on Saturday.
Weaver had his moment in the sun earlier this season, but neither player should offer much fantasy value over the remainder of the season.
  • MEM Shooting Guard
The Thunder have sent Kyle Weaver to the Tulsa 66ers of the D-League.
Weaver is averaging 5.1 ppg for Oklahoma City this season, and though he’s likely to get recalled at some point, there aren’t enough minutes available for him to make a fantasy impact.
  • MEM Shooting Guard
The Bobcats traded rookie guard Kyle Weaver to Oklahoma City for a 2009 second-round pick on Monday.
The Washington State product was taken by Charlotte with the 38th overall pick in this year’s draft after averaging 12.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists as a senior. Weaver is a tough defender and can play several positions, including small forward. He shouldn’t have fantasy value this year, but then again, Kevin Durant is really the only shooting guard, other than Weaver, on the roster. Keep your eye on him.

Oklahoma City is waiting for their name, colors and logo to be announced before introducing new acquisitions Desmond Mason, Joe Smith and Kyle Weaver.
The Oklahoman reports that an announcement of the team name is expected before the end of the month, though not in the upcoming week. Their preseason opener is on October 8th against the Timberwolves (whose new jerseys read “Wolves” or “Minnesota”, rather than Timberwolves). Strangely, it will be played in Billings, Montana.

Oklahoma City signed second-round draft pick Kyle Weaver to a multi-year contract on Wednesday.
Weaver averaged 12.2 points in 33 minutes per game as a senior at Washington State. He was drafted by the Bobcats and then traded to Oklahoma City for a second-round pick in next year’s draft, and should split time with Damien Wilkins backing up Kevin Durant at shooting guard.
  • MEM Shooting Guard
The Bobcats took Kyle Weaver out of Washington State with the 38th pick.
He’s a combo guard with nice ball handling skills. Eventually, he’s going to be a solid roto player, as he can contribute in many categories. But that’s going to take a few years to develop.
  • MEM Shooting Guard
Kyle Weaver left Wednesday’s practice early due to a shoulder injury and is being called questionable for Friday’s game.
We’ll pass along an update on Weaver when it becomes available, but the backup guard should not currently be a consideration in fantasy leagues.
  • MEM Shooting Guard
Kyle Weaver will have surgery on his injured shoulder on Monday, and has no timetable for a return.
Weaver’s absence hurts the Thunder more than it does fantasy owners, although it does insure that Russell Westbrook will get as much run as he can handle.
  • MEM Shooting Guard
Thunder guard Kyle Weaver will miss at least four months after having surgery to repair his separated shoulder.
Tough break for the young guard, though he should at the very least be 100% for next season’s opening day.
