Thomas

Thomas will immediately be optioned to the D-League. The Rockets need roster space for healthy point guards and can evaluate if they want to commit to Thomas long term by giving him minutes in the minors.

Thomas spent some time with the Spurs earlier this season, but he was waived by the team in early February and returned to the D-League. He’ll get another taste of NBA life with the Rockets.

Thomas is a 6'9/220 forward that went undrafted out of San Diego State. He’s limited offensively, but would be an asset on the defensive end if he got on the floor. Thomas was averaging 14.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game through six games in the D-League.

Thomas is an undrafted rookie who was recently called up from the D-League and has no chance at being fantasy-relevant this season.

Thomas had a strong showing in summer league and the Bulls were obviously impressed with the results. If he does join the team, it could be on a partially guaranteed deal with an eye toward earning a roster spot in training camp.

We previously noted that the Bulls were hoping to sign Thomas, but Beverley has played himself onto Chicago’s radar and Moore was known to have interest in joining the Bulls in anticipation of being waived by the Rockets. The Bulls will likely fill out the remaining spots on their roster with at least one player from this group, but none are likely to come into sustainable fantasy value.

Thomas was a summer league standout and the Bulls were previously rumored to be attempting to sign him to a one-year contract. It shouldn’t be hard for him to find a new home as it’s clear that interest in his services has picked up.
