Ndudi Ebi, on the IL all season with “knee tendinitis,” got hurt for real. He sustained a stress fracture in his left foot and will be in a walking cast for four to six weeks.
Why isn’t this guy putting up huge numbers for the Arizona Wildcats?

Forward Ndudi Ebi will be among four free agents competing for a Mavericks roster spot at training camp in October.
Ebi, SG Pat Carroll, PG Darius Washington and PG Juan Jose Barea are all vying for the 15th and final spot on the roster. Ebi looked impressive at Hakeem Olajuwon’s recent camp. “I think Ndudi was too young, too unprepared for the NBA the first time,” Olajuwon said. “Now I see stronger, more confident moves. ... I think he’s ready.”

The Mavericks signed forward Ndudi Ebi on Thursday.
Terms weren’t disclosed and Ebi is a sore subject for Kevin McHale, who made him a first-round pick a couple years ago, only to see him become a major bust. The Mavs think he may be worth holding on to, but he’ll have no fantasy value this season.

Timberwolves placed forward Ndudi Ebi on the injured list; waived forward John Thomas.
Ebi is listed as having left knee tendinitis.

Ndudi Ebi doesn’t have to worry about playing in the developmental league.
Since he’s in his third year, he’s not eligible, and he said he was not going to go down there anyway. What he does have to worry about is being cut.

Ndudi Ebi is not very happy upon learning the Wolves would like for him to play in the developmental league this year.
“I’m not a developmental league player, I’m not a CBA player, I’m not an overseas player,” he said. “I’m an NBA player, hands down, bottom line.” He’s not even eligible for the developmental league since this is his third season, but the Wolves will probably ask for an exception to be made.

    Timberwolves waive forward Ndudi Ebi.
They wanted to send him to the developmental league, but he’s in his third year and an exception to allow players with more than two years under their belt was not allowed. He also said he was an “NBA player,” and was going to refuse to go. He may get some looks from other teams, as he is a former first-round pick, but his development has moved at a snail’s pace.

The T-Wolves have until Monday to pick up Ndudi Ebi’s contract option for 2006-07.
The team hasn’t made their decision yet. The 21-year old averaged 13.5 PPG in two games before suffering a season-ending knee injury. He’s talented, but still a project.

Ndudu Ebi got into today’s game, but he played just four minutes and went scoreless.
Ebi has been troubled by a sore right wrist.
