Anthony Davis’ star has justifiably been rising over the past year. He’s one of the cover athletes for the upcoming NBA 2K16 and he just signed a five-year, $143 million extension with the Pelicans. Recently, he had an opportunity to cross over even further into mainstream America’s consciousness, but he knew his lane.

Davis told TMZ Sports recently that he was invited to appear on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, but turned it down because he can’t dance and didn’t want to embarrass himself. You can watch the video here (via DIME).

Davis wouldn’t have been the first NBA player to appear on the show. Metta World Peace was a cast member in 2011, when he was on the Lakers, and Hall of Famer Clyde Drexler appeared in 2007. Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has also been on the show.
