Dion Waiters has had a busy few days.

Off the court, he was mired in a convoluted controversy involving his Muslim faith, and whether or not it was the reason for him skipping the national anthem in Utah last week. The original report said it was, Waiters denied it by calling it “a damn lie,” and then the two sides evidently agreed that some sort of misunderstanding was to blame for the entire story.

On the court, Waiters was the victim of a flagrant foul administered by Denver’s Darrell Arthur on Friday, which resulted in the Nuggets’ big man receiving a one-game suspension.

The hit Waiters took from Arthur was strong enough to have caused a back injury that will Sideline Waiters for Monday night’s contest against the Pelicans.
