There was a three-game window where Darren Collison was the right amount of suspended for the Kings to get an extra roster spot.

They used it on Jordan Farmar, but with Collison set to return from his eight-game ban for domestic violence, Sacramento must clear room for him. So, exit Farmar.

James Ham of CSN California:

The Sacramento Kings made a roster adjustment Monday morning, waiving veteran Jordan Farmar to make room for the returning Darren Collison.

Collison will likely start, and his play merits it. That’ll slide Ty Lawson to the bench, where he’ll no longer be so clearly in over his head.

Farmar helped the Kings, playing in two of his three games, including a win. He provided some steadiness at backup point guard and relieved pressure on combo guard Garrett Temple.

But bottom line: Collison-Lawson should be a big upgrade over Lawson-Farmar, and now Sacramento (3-5) can try to get its season rolling in the right direction.
