No Stephen Curry. No Russell Westbrook. No Chris Paul. No John Wall.

But Team USA has found a point guard for the 2016 Olympics: Kyle Lowry.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports:

Lowry is an excellent choice. He’s a balanced lead guard who scores and involves teammates, and he can get into opponents defensively. He’s not in the top tier of point guards with Curry, Westbrook, Paul and a healthy and engaged Kyrie Irving, but Lowry is firmly in the next group.

My only quibble is with USA Basketball. Why release a list of Finalists for the Olympic team if you’re just going to choose someone who wasn’t on it? Omitting Lowry was an error.

At least the Americans corrected it and got the more important call right.
