Stephen Curry. Kyle Korver. Klay Thompson. J.J. Redick. Wesley Matthews.
Now you can add Kyrie Irving to the list of people expected to participate in the Three-Point Contest All-Star Saturday Night in New York City.
Damn. That field is stacked. (No, it’s not official yet, just wait.)
Irving being added to the list is new news via Chris Haynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Cleveland Cavaliers’ point guard Kyrie Irving will participate in the NBA’s Three-Point Contest during All-Star Weekend on Feb. 14 in New York, a league source informed Northeast Ohio Media…
Irving, 22, will also make his third All-Star game appearance on Feb.15. The fourth-year guard won the deep-ball event in 2013.
Irving is shooting 40.9 percent from three this season, which is elite — and also fourth best in this field. Korver is shooting a ridiculous 53.7 percent, Thompson is at 44.8, and Redick is shooting 43.3. Matthews has hit more threes this season than anyone and Curry is just the best pure shooter in the game today.
This is the competition I am most looking forward to All-Star Weekend. The Three-Point Contest is part of All-Star Saturday night Feb. 14 at the Barclay’s Center with the Dunk Contest, Skills Challenge and more.
TNT will broadcast the event, so try to convince your wife/girlfriend that you should stay home and watch this rather than go out on Valentine’s Day.
