Near the end of the first half of Chicago’s win over the Timberwolves on Saturday, Thaddeus Young caught an inadvertent elbow to the head from Jimmy Butler, and appeared to get knocked out before falling awkwardly to the floor.

Thankfully, there didn’t appear to be any lingering effects, and he returned to practice on Monday.

From The Associated Press:

He remained down on the court for more than 10 minutes while Timberwolves medical staff tended to him and was unable to finish the game.

Young went through concussion tests on Sunday and was back at practice full-go on Monday.

Young says he feels fortunate to have avoided a more serious injury. He says he will be ready to go when the Timberwolves return to the court in Brooklyn on Wednesday night.

Young came to Minnesota this summer as part of the blockbuster trade that sent Kevin Love to the Cavaliers. He’s averaging 17.7 points in 28.3 minutes per contest through three games with the Timberwolves this season.
