The Memphis Grizzlies are shopping Sam Young.
Odds are “50-50" that he’ll be dealt, and the Grizzlies are reportedly looking for a second-round pick in exchange. Young has been buried on the bench for most of the season and is averaging just 3.5 points per game.
  • SAS Small Forward #10
The Philadelphia 76ers have acquired G/F Sam Young from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for the rights to 2005 draft pick Ricky Sanchez.
The Grizzlies were shopping the swingman and the Sixers were looking to add depth on the wing, so this deal makes sense for both sides. Young is a solid defender and should be a decent role player for the Sixers going forward, but don’t look for any fantasy value here. The first domino of deadline day has fallen.
  • SAS Small Forward #10
Sam Young (ankle) played two minutes on Friday.
Young was spotted in a walking boot many moons ago and hasn’t played since February 2. For all of his opportunity due to injury, he hasn’t been able to do produce anything of substance for the Grizzlies.
  • SAS Small Forward #10
Sam Young exited Wednesday night’s game after being hit in the left eye and has been ruled out for the remainder of the game.
With the 76ers resting many of their regulars, Young was able to get some extra run before having his night cut short.
  • SAS Small Forward #10
Sam Young had five points before leaving Wednesday’s game with an eye injury.
This makes him iffy for Thursday’s finale at Detroit, but he wasn’t worth owning when healthy.
  • FA Power Forward #33
Updating a previous item, Rudy Gay failed his concussion test and will not play against the Lakers Tuesday.
Gay woke up Tuesday morning with headaches and did not pass his “baseline test” for the second straight day. He’s now headed for a CT scan, leaving him questionable for Friday’s game against the Raptors. Sam Young will start at small forward on Tuesday, leaving O.J. Mayo and Quincy Pondexter in their bench roles.
  • SAS Small Forward #10
Sam Young (eye) returned to action on Thursday, scoring 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting (including three treys) with four rebounds, two assists, and a steal in 26 minutes.
Young is not likely to see the rotation during the playoffs, but put in some good work tonight.
  • GSW Small Forward #9
Andre Iguodala (knee) is listed as doubtful for Tuesday’s game against the Cavs.
Iguodala was deemed a game-time call on Monday, but it doesn’t look like he’ll be well enough to give it a go. Evan Turner, Thaddeus Young, Sam Young and Jodie Meeks should all see an increase in minutes in the event that Iguodala does not play.
  • GSW Small Forward #9
Andre Iguodala (knee) will not play Tuesday and will “hopefully” be ready for Friday’s game against the Wizards.
Iguodala’s status going forward will depend on how his knee tendinitis responds to treatment. Jodie Meeks will start at shooting guard once again Tuesday and Evan Turner will see a boost in minutes as he kicks to small forward. Sam Young will also be called upon plenty to replace Iguodala’s defensive abilities.
  • SAS Small Forward #10
Sam Young will likely dress for the Sixers on Friday but Doug Collins is unsure if he’ll play.
Young drove for 13 hours to arrive in Philadelphia from Memphis and needs to get acclimated to his new team. Even if he does play, Young is not worth fantasy consideration.
