Hudson

Hudson is still recovering from April surgery on his left ankle.

“Our hope is that about three weeks into the exhibition season, he’ll be able to start getting into some five-on-five fullcourt games,” coach Flip Saunders said.

“Right now, in the back of his mind, [there’s] a little bit of caution about coming out for an exhibition game,” Saunders said. “That’s why I need to sit down and talk with him. He needs to know he can trust us if he’s healthy enough, that he can give it a couple minutes. He’s making progress. The next step is game-type situations.”

“I was stiff,” Hudson said, after finishing with four points, four assists and two turnovers in only 15 total minutes. Hudson has had a difficult time readjusting to a reserve role this season.

Hudson isn’t happy with playing time. “Its me being stiff, period,” he said. “It doesn’t have anything to do with my ankle.”

Hudson has been out since the final preseason game and isn’t expected to return until early December.

Hudson will be eligible to return for the final two games of the regular season. The team signed Darrick Martin to back up Sam Cassell yesterday. Hudson believes he will be ready for the playoffs but it’s time to drop him in fantasy leagues.

Hudson plans to play, but he’ll be a game-time decision tomorrow.

If he continues to make progress, Hudson could return Saturday.
