The Blazers took Kansas PG Tyshawn Taylor with the 41st pick and will send him to the Brooklyn Nets.
Taylor is a very intriguing point guard and could be a solid backup in the NBA. But with Deron Williams likely heading back to the Nets, don’t expect much from him in the next couple years. He can also play some shooting guard and is a good defender, which works in his favor.

Kansas point guard Tyshawn Taylor worked out for the Cavaliers approximately two weeks ago.
Taylor believes that he can play either guard spot. “They made it clear they want to be a defensive-minded team,” he said. “They understand that’s something I can bring to the table.” Taylor worked out against Long Beach State prospect Casper Ware for the Cavs.

The Bulls reportedly plan to draft Kansas G Tyshawn Taylor with the No. 29 overall pick in Thursday’s draft.
Take this with a major grain of salt. It’s hard to imagine the Bulls zeroing in one specific player given how fluid this draft class is, and there is no question the team will adjust its draft plans depending on how the first 28 picks are selected. Having said that, Taylor does make some sense as a backup behind Derrick Rose.

The Nets signed rookie guard Tyshawn Taylor on Friday.
Taylor can play either guard position, although the majority of his time will be spent backing up Deron Williams at the point in Brooklyn next season. Taylor won’t have much fantasy value unless D-Will or starting SG MarShon Brooks gets injured.

Tyshawn Taylor (quad) returned to action on Thursday.
Taylor missed nine days with a strained quad, but the rookie avoided a serious injury and is ready to get back into the mix. Currently third on the depth chart, he’s not expected to play too much this season. Avery Johnson added that Taylor won’t play in a preseason game until at least next week.

C.J. Watson will not play on Thursday as it will be a scheduled rest day.
Nothing to see here. Watson is perfectly healthy, but the Nets are just giving him a night off. Tyshawn Taylor should see extended minutes in his absence.
  • Point Guard #10
Tyshawn Taylor and Tornike Shengelia will likely be sent to the D-League after the Nets return from their three-game road trip.
Both rookies need consistent playing time to develop, so a trip to the D-League should do good things for both players.

Tyshawn Taylor (quad) was again limited in practice on Wednesday.
The team is just taking precaution with the rookie and there is no need to overwork him at this juncture in training camp. The fact that he’s practicing at all means that the injury shouldn’t be considered serious.

Tyshawn Taylor is dealing with a strained right quad.
Taylor is able to practice on a “limited” basis, and it sounds as if the Nets are just being extra cautious with training camp just getting underway. He’s currently penciled in as the third-string PG and should learn plenty in his rookie season behind Deron Williams.

Tyshawn Taylor (quad) will not play in Monday’s preseason game.
Taylor will be evaluated after the game, and it sounds like he’s inching closer to a return. The rookie is not on the fantasy radar as he’s behind both Deron Williams and C.J. Watson on the depth chart.
