Anthony Clement will be the Jets’ starting right tackle in 2006.
Clement, who’s always had the size and ability, has often been injured during his career. He beat out incumbent Adrian Jones for the job.
  • 49ers signed T Anthony Clement.
He was with the Cardinals and Broncos earlier this season.
  • Patriots released T Anthony Clement.
Clement had been on injured reserve with a knee injury.
  • Patriots signed OT Anthony Clement, formerly of the Jets.
The Jets and Pats usually wait until in-season to sign each other’s former players, but New England couldn’t resist. Clement has bounced around, but started 16 games last season for the Jets and provides experience at a weak spot for the Patriots. He’s got a decent chance to make the team.
  • In addition to Shane Olivea, the Jets are targeting free agent Maurice Williams as a possible starter at right tackle.
They’re trying to upgrade from Anthony Clement. Williams was a road grader in Jacksonville, but fell down the depth chart in 2007. He also plays guard.
  • Patriots signed veteran offensive lineman Barry Stokes.
Stokes replaces Anthony Clement, who was placed on the injured reserve with a knee injury.
  • Patriots placed T Anthony Clement (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.
The Pats never really wanted Clement to make the team anyways. They just wanted what he knew about his former team, the Jets. Clement could be released with an injury settlement later on.
  • Jets released T Anthony Clement.
With the signing of Damien Woody, Clement became expendable after starting 33 games at right tackle for New York. He was only only due slightly more than the veterans’ minimum, so it’s unlikely he’ll be back.
