The Jaguars’ final injury report of the week ruled out four players for Sunday’s game against the Cardinals.
Edge rusher Travon Walker (knee) missed practice all week and will miss his second game of the season. Walker has 20 tackles and 2.5 sacks so far this season.
The Jaguars will also be without wide receiver Brian Thomas (ankle) for the second straight game. Thomas did practice on a limited basis this week, so he may be moving closer to a return to action.
Right tackle Anton Harrison (knee, ankle) and tight end Hunter Long (hip, knee) are the other Jaguars who will be out this weekend.
Cornerback Jarrian Jones (quad), cornerback Jourdan Lewis (neck), and tight end Brenton Strange (hip) landed questionable designations.
Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving last played in Week 4 against the Eagles. He won’t be playing in Week 12 against the Rams.
Irving could be back in Week 13, against the Cardinals.
Tampa Bay coach Todd Bowles addressed the situation on Friday with reporters.
“He’s not going through much off the field, but he got hurt,” Bowles said, via Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. “He didn’t handle it well, because he’d been hurt for the first time. He had a full practice this week. Definitely be trending up for playing next week, so we’re just preparing him for the Arizona game, which is what we’re getting him ready for and that’s what he’ll be ready for.”
Although Bowles said Friday that Irving “had a full practice this week,” he was officially listed as limited on Thursday and Friday.
Irving’s status has been draped in mystery for weeks. He officially has shoulder and foot injuries. As Bucs Hall of Famer Ronde Barber said last month regarding the team’s injuries, The ones that worry you are Bucky and [receiver Chris] Godwin. I can’t get a solid answer what’s wrong with either of them.”
Irving has 237 rushing yards and 193 receiving yards in his four 2025 appearances, giving him an average of 107.5 yards from scrimmage per game. As a rookie, he rushed for 1,122 yards and 16 touchdowns, with another 392 receiving yards.
The Cardinals have added another running back to their active roster.
The team announced on Friday that they have signed Jermar Jefferson off of their practice squad. Jefferson takes the spot of right tackle Jonah Williams, who has been placed on injured reserve and will have shoulder surgery.
Jefferson signed to Arizona’s practice squad in October. He spent the summer with the Titans and the 2021 seventh-round pick spent his first four seasons with the Lions.
Jefferson has 21 carries for 96 yards and two touchdowns for his career.
The move comes after the Cardinals ruled Emari Demercado out for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars. They have designated Trey Benson for return from injured reserve, but signing Jefferson may be a sign that Benson’s return will not come this weekend. Bam Knight and Michael Carter are the other backs for Arizona.
Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon ruled wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. and running back Emari Demercado out earlier this week and he added a couple more players to the list on Friday.
Gannon told reporters that linebacker Baron Browning and right tackle Jonah Williams will not play against the Jaguars.
Browning also missed last week’s loss to the 49ers with a concussion and will need to clear the protocol in order to return to action in Week 13. Browning has 16 tackles, two sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery in nine games this season.
Gannon said that Williams needs surgery to repair his shoulder injury and he will be placed on injured reserve.
The Cardinals will have to wait at least another week to have one of their top offensive weapons back on the field.
In his Wednesday press conference, head coach Jonathan Gannon told reporters that receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars.
Harrison recently had his appendix removed and did not play in the Week 11 loss to the 49ers.
He’s recorded 34 receptions for 525 yards with four touchdowns in nine games this season.
Running back Emari Demarcado has also been ruled out with his ankle injury suffered on Sunday.
However, running back Trey Benson’s 21-day practice window has been opened. Gannon noted the team will evaluate Benson day by day to determine if he’ll be available for Week 12.
