Panthers RB/KR Mike Goodson (concussion) returned to practice Wednesday and is not on the Week 6 injury report.
It’s unclear if he’ll get his kick return job back from Kenny Moore, who had a huge 55-yard return in Carolina’s Week 5 win over the Redskins.
  • PIT Wide Receiver
According to Panthers beat writer Darin Gantt, Kenny Moore has “effectively supplanted” Dwayne Jarrett as the Panthers’ No. 3 receiver.
Moore was the Lions’ fifth-round pick in 2008. There won’t be many targets left over after Jake Delhomme gets the ball to Steve Smith and Muhsin Muhammad, but Moore could have an impact if either one gets injured. He’s sounding like an in-season waiver add.
  • CAR Wide Receiver
    Panthers released WR Jason Carter.
The Panthers have one of the shallowest receiving corps in the league. It’s not a good sign for Carter’s chances of landing a job elsewhere. Former Lions fifth-rounder Kenny Moore appears to have the inside track on the No. 4 job.
  • PIT Wide Receiver
WR Kenneth Moore will be the team’s kick returner on Sunday with rookie Mike Goodson (concussion) out.
Moore also has three catches for 25 yards on the season, as he is the team’s third receiver ahead of Dwayne Jarrett
  • PIT Wide Receiver
Kenny Moore is impressing Panthers veteran receivers and seems to have the edge for the No. 4 receiver spot.
“He’s got a hunger about himself that’s definitely allowed him to flourish,” said Muhsin Muhammad. Moore looks to be ahead of Ryne Robinson and Jason Carter on the depth chart and could take plays away from Dwayne Jarrett if he doesn’t produce.
  • FA Running Back #23
The Charlotte Observer wonders if Mike Goodson should get his kick return duties back from Kenneth Moore.
Moore stepped in for Goodson in last week’s win and returned three kicks for 89 yards, an average of 29.7. Goodson has returned seven kicks for a 21.6 average, and has only busted out his best return for 33 yards. We’ll see who John Fox puts back deep today against the Bucs.
  • CLE Wide Receiver
Devale Ellis reportedly has “a big edge” in the competition for the Lions’ No. 5 receiver spot.
The speedy receiver, who missed all of last season with a knee injury, figures to work mostly on special teams. He’s competing with Brandon Middleton and rookie Kenneth Moore.
  • PIT Wide Receiver
Lions fifth-round pick Kenneth Moore is expected to compete for the team’s No. 5 receiver position.
Fifth-round picks are typically good bets to make rosters as rookies, but Moore may have to beat out Devale Ellis just to stick in Detroit. Moore has some return value, but isn’t a homerun threat there and is unlikely to be more than a reserve slot receiver behind Shaun McDonald and Mike Furrey.
  • PIT Wide Receiver
Lions agreed to terms with fifth-round WR Kenneth Moore on a three year contract.
Moore is built like a running back and may even be an emergency player at the position if he makes the team. His best chance at sticking will initially be as a returner.
  • FA Defensive Lineman
Lions agreed to terms with third-round DT Andre Fluellen.
Fluellen could fight for snaps behind Cory Redding. He’s more of a pass rusher than a run stopper.
