There’s a position switch of note to report at the 2015 Senior Bowl.
Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall has moved to defensive back, the game announced on Twitter Tuesday. He is now listed at cornerback on the South roster.
According to Rotoworld’s Josh Norris, Marshall measured in at just over 6-foot-1 on Tuesday.
Marshall began his collegiate career as a cornerback with Georgia, but he was dismissed from the program. Later, after a junior college stint, he had success at quarterback at Auburn.
However, Marshall looks set to switch positions in the pros.
“It won’t be a hard transition for me to make,” Marshall said of the move to cornerback, according to Brandon Marcello of Al.com. “It’s something that I know if I put my mind to it I can do anything that I want.”
Marshall’s spot at quarterback has been filled by Southeastern Louisiana’s Bryan Bennett, who began his career at Oregon.
As a senior, Bennett (6-3, 215) threw for 2,357 yards with 18 touchdowns and eight picks. He also rushed for 669 yards and 15 TDs on 137 carries. However, he connected on just 49.5 percent of his passes.
