The Bills without LeSean McCoy aren’t much to look at.
The Bengals without A.J. Green aren’t either.
But on a day when the two best players in the stadium couldn’t finish, the Bills got just enough, escaping with a 16-12 win on the road.
The Bengals were driving late, and would have had a chance to kick a game-winning field goal, except that kicker Mike Nugent missed a pair of extra points earlier in the game which made it a four-point margin.
That left them trying a Hail Mary into their end zone as time expired, without Green to throw it to. It fell helplessly to the ground, resembling their offense throughout the game.
The Bills limited the Bengals to 300 yards, and got a pair of interceptions off Andy Dalton in the first half.
The Bills improved to 5-5, and the Bengals fell to 3-6-1, but the biggest stories will obviously be the condition of their stars, after McCoy left with a thumb injury and didn’t return, and Green’s hamstring injury on the second play of the game kept him from having any impact.
