Brandon Mebane, the anchor piece of Seattle’s stout defensive line, is expected to miss time after suffering a pulled right hamstring against the New York Giants on Sunday.

Mebane left in the second quarter of Sunday’s game after grabbing his right hamstring while attempting to chase down a screen pass to receiver Reuben Randle.

“He has a really legit hamstring pull,” head coach Pete Carroll said Monday. “He’s out for a while. We will find out more later today.”

With Mebane expected to be out, the Seahawks will turn to Kevin Williams to serve as the primary replacement for Mebane in the lineup. Tony McDaniel and Jordan Hill will also rotate in as well.

“All those guys are good football players. They’re all doing good stuff,” Carroll said. “Their makeup is a little different and their style. I mean there is nobody like Mebane. He’s a very unique player. He’s had, I think, the best season he’s had since he’s we’ve been here to this point – most consistent, best factor so that’s a big hit to take. But our guys that go in play good football too so we will expect them to play up and maintain the level.”

Tight end Luke Willson could also be out this week as he sprained his left ankle against the Giants. Willson had his left foot stepped on by Giants defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka and did not return to the game.

“It’s a legitimate ankle sprain but he’s shown really good ability to get back, we will see what happens,” Carroll said. “I don’t know if it will happen this week or not.”

The Seahawks expect to get linebacker Malcolm Smith and safety Kam Chancellor back this week. Both players have missed the last two games with groin injuries.

Linebacker Bobby Wagner has an outside shot this week as he could return to practice after missing four games with a turf toe injury. Tight end Zach Miller and left guard James Carpenter aren’t expected to play this week as they are still dealing with ankle injuries. Miller had surgery during the team’s bye in Week 4 and has missed six games. Carpenter didn’t play Sunday against the Giants.
