Broncos defensive end Derek Wolfe, who has been hospitalized after falling ill, is “alert and recovering” after having “seizure-like symptoms” on Friday, the club said in a statement on Saturday evening.

“He underwent extensive testing and is now being treated accordingly by doctors, who will continue to monitor his condition,” the Broncos said.

Wolfe remains hospitalized, the club said Saturday evening.

The 23-year-old Wolfe has started every regular-season game in which he’s played since the Broncos drafted him in the second round of the 2012 draft. He’s notched 16 tackles and four sacks this season.
