Four first-half turnovers put the Broncos in an early hole. WR Randy Moss says the Patriots are “very, very scary” when they play well in all phases of the game. Patriots Hall of Famer John Hannah had some harsh words for Moss. Said Broncos CB Dre Bly, “We got our butt kicked, from the first play to the last. It’s just embarrassing.” Said Broncos CB Champ Bailey, “I’ve always got a nasty attitude. That’s just the way I play, but it’s not rubbing off on some people, and I don’t like it. It’s getting very frustrating.” Broncos coach Mike Shanahan says his team gave the game away. The Broncos sacked Patriots QB Matt Cassel six times. Patriots coach Bill Belichick made a good call to go for it on a fourth-and-1 in the second quarter. Patriots G Logan Mankins likes the way RB Sammy Morris runs. The Patriots showed that they can play smash-mouth football.
