The Browns have a pretty impressive run of five offensive coordinators in as many years.

And now they have a sixth candidate, in hopes of a longer run.

According to Alex Marvez of FOX Sports, the Browns are hiring Raiders quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo to be their next coordinator.

DeFilippo has also had stints with the Jets (where he worked with Browns head coach Mike Pettine) and Giants, and was given some degree of credit for the play of rookie quarterback Derek Carr this year.

A native of Youngstown, Ohio, he also has the kind of rust belt roots that Browns fans go all nutty for. (That worked so well when they hired hometown hero Rob Chudzinski as head coach.)

The Browns interviewed a load of candidates with a variety of backgrounds, but settled on another young up-and-comer.
