The Buccaneers have made another change at quarterback.
Mike Glennon, the second-year player who has started the last five games, announced on Buccaneers radio affiliate WDAE this evening that he has been benched. Josh McCown, who started the first three games of the season, is back to the top of the depth chart.
That doesn’t come as a big surprise, as coach Lovie Smith said this week that a change was possible. But it is a little surprising that Glennon himself is the one who’s making the news public.
Tampa Bay has been a bad team no matter who plays quarterback, and this change is closer to rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic than to making a move that could turn the season around. Whether it’s Glennon or McCown at quarterback, the Bucs are a long way from being a good team.
