Christian Ponder expects to be jeered on Saturday.

Ponder, the former Vikings quarterback who is now a backup with the Raiders, will return to Minnesota for a preseason game on Saturday night. And he says he firmly believes the Minnesota fans will treat him badly.

Oh, I’m going to get booed,” Ponder said, via the Bay Area News Group. “I’m trying to figure out, we were talking about it in the quarterback room, what I should do when I get out on the field? Should I take a bow, or what? What’s going to happen? I’m expecting some boos, but it’s all fun though.”

As the Vikings’ first-round pick in 2011, Ponder was largely a disappointment, but he says he’s looking forward to playing in Minnesota again.

“I’m going to enjoy what I’m doing whether fans are cheering or booing,” Ponder said. “If it doesn’t happen, great, if it does happen, I’m prepared.”
