Marcus Spears is staying in Dallas.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Cowboys reached an agreement with Spears on a five-year, $19.2 million deal.

Spears is a six-year veteran who has played his entire career with the Cowboys, but he was expected to go elsewhere this year. He’s coming off a season in which he missed half the year and didn’t play particularly well when he was on the field, and the Cowboys indicated that they thought it was time for him to move on.

Instead, the 2005 first-round pick is sticking around, with a hefty new contract.
