The Lions have deactivated the following players for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys:
Quarterback Matthew Stafford, wide receiver Bryant Johnson, offensive tackle Jason Fox, defensive ends Willie Young and Cliff Avril, linebacker Isaiah Ekejiuba, and kicker Jason Hanson.
Stafford won’t even be Detroit’s third quarterback. Rookie Zac Robinson has “earned” that distinction.
Inactive for the Cowboys: Quarterback Tony Romo, defensive lineman Jimmy Saddler-McQueen, guard Phil Costa, tackle Sam Young, tackle Jermey Parnell, receiver Kevin Ogletree, and defensive end Sean Lissemore.
Stephen McGee will back up Jon Kitna.
