The Cowboys’ front office has frequently said that defensive lineman Tyrone Crawford is a big part of the team’s future, and now they’ve ensured that he’ll be in Dallas for years to come.
Crawford and the Cowboys have agreed to a five-year contract extension. ESPN pegs the deal at a total value of $45 million extension, with $25.7 million guaranteed.
“He represents everything that we want to wear the star,” Cowboys V.P. Stephen Jones said yesterday, just before the deal got done. “He’s a really solid player on the field and plays the way we want to play the game and even a better guy off the field. We’re working hard to ensure that he’ll be there.”
Crawford was heading into the final season of the rookie deal he signed as the Cowboys’ third-round pick in 2012. Now he’s locked up for many more years in Dallas.
