The Chiefs were without wide receiver Dwayne Bowe at their opening practices of training camp because he landed on the non-football illness list after coming down with a virus.

Bowe’s health has improved over the weekend, though, and his absence from the field has come to an end. The NFL’s official transactions list from Saturday reveals that he passed his physical and Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star reports that Bowe is in uniform and on the field with his teammates on Sunday morning.

Bowe signed a five-year extension with the team this offseason and he’s expected to be their leading receiver again during the 2013 season. He’s set his sights even higher than that, saying this offseason that he thought he’d wind up leading the league in catches and touchdowns as a result of playing in coach Andy Reid’s offensive scheme.

That will be a tough double for Bowe to pull off, but his chances of doing it are much better if he’s healthy enough to be on the field.
