San Francisco safety Eric Reid says his views were misrepresented in a story about concerns regarding his history of concussions.

As we noted yesterday, the San Francisco Chronicle ran a story saying that Reid had thought about retiring after suffering three concussions in his first two NFL seasons. Reid later took to Twitter and addressed the writer of that piece, Eric Branch, saying that he never said he had given some thought to leaving the NFL.

“The media always finds a way to twist your words...they just want you to click on their article,” Reid wrote. “I don’t appreciate the way you twisted and took my words out of context in your article. I’ve always respected your job by answering your questions. Your article was not an accurate portrayal of my words. Just to be clear, I NEVER SAID, ‘I’ve given some thought to leaving the NFL.’”

The San Francisco Chronicle later changed the headline on its story from “Reid says he’s considered leaving the NFL” to “Reid, too, mulled giving up football.” Reid, however, declined to speak with Branch to clarify what he considered inaccurate about Branch’s story.

What Reid is saying is that he’s not mulling giving up football. He’s all in for the 2015 season.
