Chicago Bears starting quarterback Jay Cutler left Monday night’s game and went to the locker room after being intercepted by Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Nigel Bradham in the third quarter.

According to Bears sideline reporter Zach Zaidman, Cutler was wearing a cast on his right thumb in his postgame press conference. Cutler also said he was unsure of when the injury occurred.

Cutler had completed 12 of 17 passes for 157 yards before the leaving the game. However, he lost a fumble after being sacked by Destiny Vaeao and the interception by Bradham set up an Eagles’ touchdown that give Philadelphia full command of the game. Cutler did not seem to be able to throw the ball effectively in the minutes leading up to the Bradham interception either.

A cast on the thumb would not seem to be a good sign for Cutler’s potential availability moving forward.

Brian Hoyer replaced Cutler at quarterback for the Bears and finished the game 9 of 12 for 78 yards.
