Jeff Fisher complains about Rams leaks

The final days of Jeff Fisher’s tenure with the Rams were marred by leaks to the media that made the situation in L.A. look precisely as dysfunctional as it was.

Fisher complained about the dynamic during a Sunday interview with FOX.

“Successful teams are tight knit,” Fisher said, “and they work together and they stay quiet and they don’t leak things.”

He’s right. But the Rams hadn’t really leaked anything in the four-plus years that Fisher had the job. That’s what made the leak to Albert Breer of Peter King’s TheMMQB.com so stunning. There had been few if any leaks from within the organization that made Fisher look bad since he was hired by the Rams.

The fact that the Rams fired Fisher after the first game following the leak will invite plenty of speculation as to who made the leak and whether it was part of an effort to lay the foundation to fire Fisher. Regardless, Fisher still isn’t happy about the situation -- and his concerns could result in pointed questions from potential coaching candidates regarding whether they’ll have deal with leaks at some point, too.
